"Talking too loud and too self-absorbed to see their own idiocy, but I'm full of it too/A bag of hot air just like you." This line from "How I Became The Jerk" sums up the overall point of 30 Foot Fall's third full-length; nobody's as big a deal as they think they are. Clever arrangements and whip smart lyrics that project a subtle feeling of optimism make for a very enjoyable listen.
Another thing that stands out on Ever Revolving, Never Evolving (besides the banging cover of The Cure's "Just Like Heaven") is maturity. The band is obviously beyond the "I see a pretty cheerleader and masturbated" style of lyrics that are being run to death in punk nowadays. Every song holds its own weight by touching on topics like self-indulgence and poverty without losing a humorous undercurrent.
All in all, Ever Revolving, Never Evolving is a great record that warrants much attention. When 30 Foot Fall say "This music's only Rock and Roll won't change the world or save your soul" you believe it.
