Alexander
The Key
Reviewed by Maury Millican
If you like variety, you'll enjoy The Key. This six-song demo offers a wide range of styles representing D&K, early 2nd Chapter of Acts, early Rush, new Darrell Mansfield, and ZZ Top. So, if you like variety, you'll like the tape. However, Alexander does not develop a consistent sound on this project, and there is no lyrical theme to The Key. On the production end, the mix is heavy on bass and drums. (The credits show that Alexander's bassist mixed the project.) Still, The Key gets the message out with solid musicianship.
