Left the Highway

Arkport recently released an 8-song electronically tinged, femme-fronted rock disc called Left the Highway. It starts off a little shaky, with the first couple songs coming across as awkward and timid, but song three, "Perfect Person," asserts some sassy confidence and moog groove, and then "Have Your Fill" mellows out swanky. Much like a new band playing a live show, Arkport's album continues the trend of growing confidence, and by the sixth song, "Winter Dreams," Erin's vocals, and the band in general, find their comfort zone. This band has some room to grow in song writing and performance, but they are on the right path.
