Ashton
[demo]

This tape shows potential in songwriting for this band. A lot of unique ideas throughout, though I could have done without "Wheel of Misfortune," which sounds like a badly covered Zappa tune. Another thing that didn't help was the obvious attempt to rip off King's X on vocal harmonies (which fell short quickly due to lack of aggressiveness), drum parts and, at the end of the tape, Ashton tries to provide humor a la Galactic Cowboys. Looking inside of the cassette cover, they go as far as to do a quote from someone named "Excitable" Earl Oldenday, aka Wilde Silas. Look guys, if you're gonna rip off from the big boys, shouldn't you do it better or at least as good? ...hum!? To order, send $7 to: 388 Shad Ct, Foster City CA 94404.
