The third Wilde Silas (read Sam Taylor produced) band to release an album is as heavy as stink. Of course, there are comparisons to King's X and Galactic Cowboys, but these guys have their own approach. Theirs is not a tidal wave of low end, although the bass does solo up front sometimes and is tough. The biggest difference, of course, lie in the tenor lead vocals of band leader Frank Hart.
Having said the band has their own style, it must be said that "Justice" sounds heavy 'n' urgent like "Space In Your Face." The guitars of Hart and Marshall sound great throughout the entire album, showing a taste for crunch, soul, blues and good ole heavy metal.
The lyrics are intelligent and stand on their own as cool poetry. Some lyrics can stand on their own as pretty good slogans, too, like the line in "Blackness": "We all want to change the world/But we don't want to change our mind."
"Justice" reveals some wisdom in what not to pray for: "When I pray Have mercy/I will never ask for justice."
The album as a whole is another excellent piece of art from Wilde Silas. Every detail - from the beautiful vocal harmonies, to the intricate rhythm changes, to the guitar swells and slamming chords in "New Dreams," to the lyrics, to the album art graphics - is done with tons of thought and gives the album buyer plenty to pour over. This appropriately named band is a unit to behold.
