This cd was released under the bandname Blisstap but upon member changes the vocalist/guitarist left and the band let him take the songs to his new band which is titled Auraface.

Now that we've cleared the air a bit let's start this off...

This 3 song disc is what happens when some high school students get ahold of a crate of Solid State bands cds and hole up for awhile and write music. Not at all a hindrance to their sound it's just that I can definitely hear the overtones of such bands as Living Sacrifice, Luti-Kriss, Zao and others. But on the flip side, not much has come out lately that doesn't ring a bell of some other Solid State band.

The production is not stellar but better than most demos from unknown bands. The playing is competent though a tad sloppy in a few places. I attribute that to studio time and the fact of the band still being a young band, not in members ages but band lifetime. More time practicing together and individually would tighten up the slight technical aspects of the riffs presented.

Songwise the 2nd song "Violation" caught my ear the most. Much metal to go around with some death-metal styled growls (though not of the cookie monster variety) along with a few higher screams. It has a more start stop feel with some massive breakdown type parts thrown in here and there. The vox remind me of a more death-metal Bruce Fitzhugh.

For lyrics you're going to have to go to their site (http://members.nbci.com/blisstap or http://www.angelfire.com/rock/blisstap). But the overall theme seems to be spiritual warfare and standing strong in your faith. "no longer obfuscated by darkness / but guided by Christ / eviscerated / the old is destroyed / the new is injected within".

Overall a good solid demo for a new band that with time will hopefully refine their sound and only get better.
