Bride

This music is absolutely killer! Undeniably better than any of Bride's previous material. These songs have all the hooks of a Motley Crue, with enough energy to drive a freight train. It literally fries your brain with its "all guts, no-holds-barred" barrage of Blues-based metal. The only thing that bugged me after my first listen was the lyrics of two of the songs. "I'm the Devil" and "Hired Gun" are both written about the bad guy and sung in the first-person perspective. What I've noticed is that this presentation reveals the true character of these bad guys. "You'll find no truth in my distant eyes...Cause when you take my hand/ you'll slide me your heart...If you wanna lose your freedom/ I'm the devil/ If you happen to lose/ I'm the devil/ If you want it all now/ I'm the devil/ Come and take it...Come and take my hand/ Everybody can." In "Hired Gun", Dale Thompson plays the assassin, who says to his victims, "I hope you and Jesus have it all worked out." right before he shoots him. The tables turn on this cruel character when he realizes that "There will be a day when I look in my eye/ and I have to die/ and I'll hear somebody say/ 'I hope you and Jesus have it all worked out.'" Pretty chilly song, but it gets the point across. Great stuff. Write Dale and bug him to sell it to ya. I bet for $5 or $6 he'll sell it to ya. Write: Route 1, Box 115A, West Point KY 40177.
