When I first popped this CD in, I thought, "Man, this is so familiar!" Then my wife said, "Love Coma!" Sure 'nuff, vocalist Chris Taylor of Love Coma produced Fish Out, Out Of Water. And a fair job he did, too. Sonic quality is good throughout, although there is a bit of hallowness sifted in, which is not necessarily a bad thing. One might compare it to The Cure with the funk of the Red Hot Chili Peppers (before they began to rap so much) mixed with that natural folkiness of Mazzy Star.
Though no lyric sheet was provided, they are clear and intelligible. Each song bounces along, giving this album a very up-beat and sometimes silly feel to it. Too many of today's bands take themselves too seriously, which makes Dandelion Myth all the more refreshing.
If you like playing frisbee on the beach on a warm spring day listening to funky praise songs, then this is the perfect album.
