Electric-surf into God? The beach, the sand, and the waves burst through your speakers in a recording that would make a great tract for searching souls on beachfront property. DBB funks out in the sun -- the music sounds like it's alive alright. The live "vibe" carries through songs like "Peace Child," coasts through guitar-laden "Landslide." Lyrics are bold and direct, as Deven tells it like it is, and their musical style is tough enough to back it up.
These guys can show you a good time too . . . their rendition of Dylan's "Gotta Serve Somebody" is quite a choice. They can pull off the classic with their own colors and flavors, as they rip new guitar riffs and jams, while editing the lyric to their own favorite of Dylan's verses.
If you're looking for a deep, mind-stretching album, this may not be for you. This album reflects a bold group of people who take simple scripture and set it afire to some catchy music -- and it's actually quite refreshing.
