Toronto's Double Edge here offer 11 songs of varying musical directions; there's Dio-ish gothic or "mellow" Metal, straight-ahead Rock, a ballad and--surprise!--even an R&B tune here. The style and progression of "Pride And Seek" bears a downright haunting resemblance to that of Stryper's "Not That Kind Of Guy". "Bloodstain" kind of grows on you as you listen, due to its unhurried, straight rhythm. The recurrent themes in D.E.'s lyrics are issues of teen morality and the general desolation of godless life. Vocalist Timothy John Huff usually sticks with a falsetto-ish style. Sadly, he is often noticeably flat. Notable for its heartfelt message and delivery is "Hard Change", a dramatic effort airing the pains of a destructive lifestyle.
