One of my peeves is when people don't understand the culture of hip hop. Hip Hop is not just rapping; there are many different elements to it. Hip Hop is capable of incorporating many different musical flavors. Pegging it to gangster or East Coast is ridiculous. Check some Brand New Heavies, Philadelphia Experiment, Prince Paul to get an idea of what I'm talking 'bout. So, when I cracked into the Furthermore CD, it instantly opened my mind to the infinite possibilities of what Hip Hop can be. The first thing I noticed was the interesting choices of instrumentation, special effects, synths, and rhyme styles. You can't really peg which direction they are attempting to go. It seems as if each song is an album in itself. Are they college oriented, spaced out, creative, or genuinely mental? That's for you to examine for yourself. People picking this up as a "pure" hip hop CD will be disappointed. People looking for a new experience, experimentation, and an education will be inspired. Oh, by the way, I dig the CD, but if you can't call back, then I must label you a Big Head.

Furthermore is somewhat of a cross between the Beastie Boys and Run DMC with backing female vocals. They definitely have an East Coast flavor to their brand of hip-hop. Like their debut album, "She and I" also has one really memorable song. This time instead of "Are You…Similar sounding releases
