Best I can tell is this is a release from 1988 by the band called Gargoyle and at some point in the year 2000 it was re-released by a label called New Renaissance Records. I personally found this as an auction on eBay and bought it for under 5 bucks so I don't feel too disappointed in it. What you get is fair late 80's glam metal with a bit of an edge, just not enough of an edge to make this CD find its way back into the player too often.
A sound similar to Motley Crue or Dokken you get basic guitar work, time keeping drumming, clean vocals and a bass guitar that might as well not even exist. Still what is most interesting about this CD is that it seems to have penetrated the secular market quite deeply, and while the lyrics are not overly pushy Christian lyrics like so many other bands from this time frame they still go against everything Motley Crue was shoving down the throats of their fans. So definitely props to the band for that! I however don't remember this album at all. I seem to have missed it when it originally hit the scene in '88, so I was a bit shocked it dated back that far.
Glam fans will most likely be a lot kinder to this CD than I was but even so I urge you not to pay the 16 bucks most online places want for it. dig around I'm sure this thing is going to find it's way into the used section before too long, and keep checking eBay, like I say I think I paid $4.99 for it and it was new still sealed. As I said if this had more edge and more punch, along the Rage of Angels or Whitecross lines it would have been simply great, however this one hits more in line with Shout or Holy Soldier.
