When you listen to track 8 on this CD entitled 'Damage Done' or even track 4 'Lies' you actually will start to really see some Eternal Decision influence within this band. Rightly so they are from the same area and are on Godfather Records which is run by Kirk Campbell of Eternal Decision. Although there is definitely some influence, GOR tends to create much thicker grooves than ED does, making them a real contender up against some of the worlds popular acts like Sevendust, actually a lot of Creed, but not nearly as wussy as Creed.

Now their website throws in Rage Against the Machine, and P.O.D., but despite one track that is rapped called 'Automatically' they really don't have anything at all similar to those bands. Even that one song isn't really pulled off well, and to me is one of the down spots of this album. Fortunately it really is the ONLY down spot on a 14 track CD that clocks in at just under an hour which force feeds you a butt whipping.

The grooves as I mentioned are just downright HUGE. I'm amazed everytime I listen to this at how tightly put together this music is. Much of this is being highlighted by the extremely good production given us. Being as this is the newest Godfather Records album we can see that Kirk is doing nothing but getting better and better at producing albums. The guitars are so in your face, and the drumming is mixed properly not too high not too low, with the bass coming along and tying it all together ever so nicely. The vocalist has a great vocal approach for this style of music, however there are several points throughout the CD where you can feel the strain. This again is a pretty minor factor in the face of the music and production levels but it had to be mentioned.

Ministry is all this band is about. They have no problems saying it and they certainly have no problems singing it as their lyrics proclaim. They close out the CD with a song called 'Bury Me' in which they explain how and why they use this medium of aggro-metal to bring the truth of Jesus

We came to dominate and take back what is ours. No prisoners left standing. We fill the lies with truth. You say what you want.. there is accountability. Integrity and honor is the battle cry. We pledge allegiance to our creator Jesus Christ.

This CD is going to do incredibly well, it's got such a great sound and feel about it people are going to eat this up. Do yourself a favor, find a copy of this, it's what you need.

Dead Zine 2000Reviewed by SORGGodfather Records has released one of their best titles to date. 14 tracks of aggro-metal at its best is what you get on this modern groove heavy feast of hardcore in the vein of Sevendust and Staind. Rapcore, hardcore and metal influences abound as this disc just serves to prove another band with strong Christian lyrics can compete (and excel) in the mainstream market. The production is…
