With a number of songs written that didn't seem to fit on any Supertones album, Matt Morginsky and Ethan Luck thought they would do a side project to get the tracks out there on store shelves. The result--a band named Grand Incredible, with Matt doing lead vocals and bass and Ethan doing drums, guitars, and some vocals.

G.I.gantic is a seventeen-track album with some interesting aspects. First off, when you look at the lyrics, you'll see that sometimes things can get rather simplistic, while other times it can go into a few different topics. There are also a few amusing songs written just for fun, such as the three "half-time" songs in the middle of the album.

Musically, just think O.C. Supertones without the horns; that's essentially what comes to mind when you are listening to it. Therefore, you have rather simple music (nothing mind-blowing) at times with Matt's rather . . . unique voice.

While it does have its catchy, fun tracks, G.I.gantic just feels like something is lacking. Matt and Ethan ventured far from their regular course to try something new but really only took out the brass instruments and gave the music a different name. Now, don't get me wrong, there are a few tracks that most likely wouldn't work as Supertones songs, horns or not. However, for the most part, it just seems like they kept quite close to their normal roots.

Nonetheless, it's still an album that people will most likely enjoy, especially fans of the 'tones. So, consider checking it out and see if it's for you, as it definitely has its good aspects.
