Dancing is Harkonen's first release on Initial records and I think they should have just waited and released a full length. I love this band. I have their older releases and they tear it up. If you are not familiar with this trio from Tacoma, Washington, here is the run down on their sound. It is unmatched and indescribable. If you take everything great from the Seattle grunge/alternative rock scene (Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Soundgarden, The Melvins) and you mix it with an odd look at hardcore and art rock...you would have Harkonen. Odd timing and off beat rhythms and down right amazing yelling ability. I loved their past releases on Hydrahead and I was very interested in their first release on Initial. They came out with a 5 song teaser. That is what it is. It is a great EP, but it just left me wanting more so I had to break out their Shake Harder Boy album just to get my fix. I would have to deny this album a four or three star review because the album is way too short for a band so great. If you don't know who they are and just want to get a listen I would suggest this EP.
