Waterline is the hot new, sophomore recording from In Reach, a modern, pop rock group on Star Song. This well-crafted release is a strong follow-up to their independently released debut.

With the exception of the hard rocking title cut, In Reach's sound is more akin to Crowded House. Acoustic guitars, lush harmonies, rim shots, and a touch of that resurgent 60s pop influence are the order of the day. In other words, In Reach embodies the sound of the 90s.

Tight musicianship and clever lyrics also saturate this release. Consider these lines from my personal favorite "Faded Love": "Like autumn colors turn to gray as the seasons change/Faded Love/I hear the sounds of yesterday as they whisper/Faded Love/Like watercolors wash away, it's the choice we make/Faded Love."

Other memorable hits include "God You Are," "Manner of Man," "The Other Fall of Cambria," and the mellower "My Heart."

Assuming these guys can keep body and soul together as a group long enough to start touring, In Reach is an exciting new band to keep an eye on.
