Listening to this E.P. from Jesus Freaks is like taking a trip down memory lane. For one thing it is three years old. Another reason is that it hearkens back to a day gone by in heavy metal. It is noticeably similar to many of the early greats in thrash, i.e. Metallica, Megadeth, and T.T. Quick. Other comparisons, for you youngsters, early Deliverance and Saint.
I believe that if this disc had been available in 1988, it probably would have received mainstream attention. But maybe there's hope that the discriminating music buyer will not pass on this one. Unfortunately, most record companies are now interested in following the trends--which means most of what we see in the local stores these days is less technical, less produced, and less interesting. But if you like good solid thrash, you'll dig this one.
