Joel Weir, an artist that was just so impacting at Cornerstone 2003, not necessarily for his live show (which was good by the way), but for the vibe that followed him off of the stage--a person could just feel his passion for his work done for the Lord, in a way; he's sort of one of those everyday heroes.
Wiretap EP, a six song EP by Weir and his two fellow band members, ventures into the genres of coffeehouse/acoustic rock, singer/songwriter, and a touch of Brit rock. Wiretap's musical foundations swirl around some of the famous singer/songwriters of yester-year James Taylor, Van Morrison, Cat Stevens, the music legend Johnny Cash, and the Brit band, Travis. This passionate, raw, and nicely crafted EP might remind some of a nice relaxing coffeehouse.
"Johnny Cash," pays homage to the heroics of Johnny Cash's influence upon the musical landscape, which by the way was recorded before Cash's death.
Wiretap doesn't offer the best of studio work these days, heck, in this day and age, sometimes a person just needs to relax and listen to a raw recording of a talented coffeehouse rock/singer/songwriter.
