On Easter Sunday of 2001, Joey Ramone, the front man of a band that many would say is responsible for inspiring most of today's top rock acts, left home. His obituary was small in the pop world, and life went on. Less than a year later the solo album, which he had been wrapping up shortly before his passing, hit the shelves as quietly as his death reached the news. Musically, this eleven-track album feels just like an addition to the Ramones catalog, with only a few reaches beyond previous Ramones albums. The group of musicians who had a hand in this record include Marky Ramone and Frank Funaro, drummer for the band Cracker, covering the drums, while long time Ramones producer, Daniel Rey takes care of the guitars, along with many others pitching in various things. The songs are solid, with that classic Joey lyricism. The hit single is probably "Wonderful world" though, I'm not sure if it's getting any airplay. There's not a lot to say about the songs. Some songs are funny; some are sentimental. All in all, its classic Ramones style all over again. The album art seemed a little incomplete; I would have liked to see more of a concept, marking the last release of original music by Joey. But this record is definitely a fitting end to a legend and really doesn't let the fans down, Ramones fans, young and old should definitely check it out.
