Singer, guitarist, songwriter, novelist, poet, folk artist, writer--Pennsylvanian Karl Williams broke onto the music scene in 1985 with his first album, Living At the End of Time. He has written songs for Speaking for Ourselves, a group whose mission is to speak out on important issues, to provide support for its members, and to teach the public about the needs, wishes, and potential of people with disabilities. Williams and his wife have worked with those with developmental disabilities. His current release, From One Millennium to Another is a blend of classic rock and roll and electrified folk with a touch of country. The original lyrics mostly relate to mid-life concerns with a nice subtle message of faith. Deep thoughtful lyrics with nice hooks and a good sense of rhythm make this one of the more interesting CDs I've heard lately. Sounds a little like John Prine.
