Have you ever experienced Déjà vu? Have you ever had that feeling that you have heard or seen something before? Have you ever heard of Starmarket (Deep Elm)? If your answer is "no", "maybe", and "yes" then you are about to become familiar with Déjà vu. Vocally, Kevlar and Starmarket are one in the same. But, this review really shouldn't have anything to do with Starmarket when in fact we are examining the latest effort by Kevlar. As mentioned, they deliver Starmarket vocals and are backed up by Jawbox music. Perhaps these may be songs never released from the J. Robbins vault (this is not true). At first, second and possibly third and fourth listens, it is irritating to digest. It is like eating candy that has an odd, foreign taste that your stomach wants to regurgitate while your mouth is craving more. The sound is not poppy, not happy, and definitely not sing-able, but it keeps you craving for just one more listen.
