An ambitious young singer-songwriter from Northern Ireland, Laura-Anne's confident debut showcases seven tracks of her gentle pop-rock. Laura Anne's vocals are very much the focus here and are strong and distinctive. Unfortunately the arrangements are generally fairly weak, failing to provide any particular direction or energy. That problem is particularly clear on the mis-conceived cover of Delirious's "Obsession," a difficult track to cover and which loses much of its atmosphere here.

The closing track, featuring guest vocals from Jonny Parks and the production work of Brian Houston shows the writing in a better light, and there are certainly promising aspects to this recording. But generally Laura-Anne needs some stronger arrangements in order to really demonstrate her clear vocal talents.
