Mammoth City Messengers is an interactive comic book aimed at preteens (I hope). It is comprised of scenes at the local school, detailing an evil plot designed to take over the minds of students. In between each scene is a song, designed at illustrating the scene that just took place. No artists are credited on the album for the writing or singing of these songs.
This may be by design, since the music contained here seems to be ForeFront's attempt at swaying some of the Disney Music market. The music is all done in the style of what is currently popular with the preteen set, a la Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Aaron Carter, et al. Most of it is digitized and rife with studio effects.
The characters are as stereotypical as can be: a skateboarder, a tomboy, a rich girl with a heart of gold, the African-American music buff (he's even called "Deejay"), and the bully who finds his way just in the nick of time. The villain is a corporate CEO, who is designed to be temptation personified.
The teenagers I shared Mammoth City Messengers with were bored. Haven't tried it on the younger groups yet, but I suspect they will be the niche market for this disc. I would severely question the judgment of any adult who finds this listenable.
