These five guys are rockin' hard to tell unsaved people that there is no satisfaction in the way they are living. In "Don't You Know": "You spin your wheels/ trapped in a dream of his (Satan's) lies." From "Success" comes these sobering lyrics: "My friend, success without the Savior is meaningless and sad." The third and best song on this tape is "There Is A Love": "My heart is crying to you/ when will you answer?" The only complaint I have of this tape is the lead guitar - when it cranks, it hurts and this is not what these songs need. However the vocals are great and that's half the ballgame. Good lyrics, good music, good band. "Cities Are Burning", a song that was added to the demo later, is a cranking, hook-filled song. Being the latest song recorded on this tape, it better represents Mercy Rule. This melodic metal could definitely keep a crowd rockin'. Things are looking good for Mercy Rule.
