Metalux might serve as your soundtrack to a journey through a nuclear reactor meltdown. It buzzes slowly with alarm-like beeps and fuzz. "Victim of Space" ricochets through your mind, like a chainsaw trying to slice you apart.
The female vocals haunt above the buzz, sounding like the long-lost sister of Eva-O (of "Damnation: Ride The Madness" fame.) While Eva-O is more disturbing, Metalux falls more into the "interesting" category. It can still be a bit creepy at places, but most of the unsettling aspects to "Ride the Madness" come from Eva-O's excellent use of hollow silence. The only quiet moments of Metalux are the brief pauses between tracks.
"Victim of Space" has a very electronic feel, though guitars seem to be used more frequently than keyboards. The effect is dark and often brings to mind large, buzzing insects. If you like your music to echo in your brain with a weird vibration that will make you question your sanity, do try this album.
