A young, enthusiastic band from Scotland ("aged between 15 and 17 and Scott, who is slightly older.") whose presentation and advertising are extremely promising. Musically this is classic rock, with the odd Celtic twist thanks to guest musician Simone Welsh's violin.
The lead vocals are male and show the Springsteen, Dylan, and Kevin Prosch influences that Scott Nicol claims. Most of the time Naomi Ballance's vocals accompany Nicol's. The one exception is "Come Home," which is sung by Daniel Robinson, who has more soulful, but softer vocals. All three vocalists show a lot of potential, and I look forward to hearing them grow.
The lyrics are really where this recording falls down; the band's enthusiasm to share their faith comes through strongly, but the lyrics lack maturity. The music too could do with a stronger focus and needs to move further from their influences.
The music shows promise, but they could really do with a whole new set of songs. Hopefully now that this is recorded, the experience will allow the band to move on.
