Whatever happened to Dan Yemin? I asked myself this question a few times after the demise of Kid Dynamite. For those who don't know who Dan Yemin is, he is one of the founding members and lead guitarist of New Jersey's legendary band Lifetime and then he became the founding member and guitarist for Kid Dynamite. Both bands made their name known off of Jade Tree Records. Well, Dan Yemin is back in Philadelphia doing another band. He has also joined up with ex-Lifetime drummer, David Wagenshultz to form Paint It Black.

They put out a 4 song demo and usually I wouldn't even bother with doing a review on a short demo...and trust me it is SHORT. The longest song is 1:34. But guess what? Paint It Black has just been signed to Jade Tree Records. Soon they will be all over the nation but you can hear it first before anyone else does. The demo is out of print already. They went fast. Their full-length album will be out in February but probably will get pushed back because of an injury to the drummer's back.

But that doesn't stop you from hearing the demo...you can download it and they don't mind at all. (www.paintitblack.info). Their songs are fast and short. Old school hardcore punk rock at its best. The funny thing about this band is that Dan does not play guitar, he is the lead vocalist. After hearing their demo, I wished he had sang in a band earlier. He has it down and his stage presence is so great.

Paint It Black also put out a song on the new Jade Tree comp.

The recording for this demo is good. It's not anything great but it is good. Since you can't spend any money on buying the demo you might as well download it for free.
