Last year I was given the opportunity to review Pepper's most recent album In With The Old. For the most part, I found it rather boring and juvenile. So now, as luck would have it, I have been sent a copy of their latest DVD release to review. If nothing else, it has confirmed that my initial reaction to the band's music was well-founded.

The DVD is eighteen songs filmed over two nights at the Troubadour in Hollywood, CA. The cinematography is probably the best part of the actual feature. The shows were shot very well with a variety of angles and some interesting viewpoints. However, the sound quality is less than impressive with occasional cracking sounds when the band starts playing or singing too loud. I should probably also mention that the band is pretty boring to watch. Sure, they play the songs and jump around a little, but I found myself continually checking the clock wondering how much longer until the show would be over.

There are a fair number of additional features on the DVD as well. The music videos for "Too Much" and "Sitting On A Curb", "Searching for the Haj" trailer, and "Green Hell" are all included if you ever feel the need to kill some time.

If you are a fan of Pepper then you will probably really enjoy this. There are enough things included on the DVD to make this worthwhile for Pepper fans. If you are not a fan of Pepper this is not going to change your mind about anything. If you are new to the band or interested in their sound, I would suggest one of their albums would be a better place to start, as this is not the best quality recording and is not all that exciting to watch.
