A 19-second solo starts things off before this master musician rips into "Strong Tower", a strong acoustic number that reminds me of Zeppelin's strong acoustic tunes. Phil power strums some strong chords that lift me up. The first time I heard this live, I had to decide whether to laugh, cry, feel my goose-bumps, or quietly listen. I'm afraid all four won out at the same time! Believe it or not, the next tune, "Carry On", starts off with some Hendrix-style feedback and riffing. Guitarists everywhere will rejoice at this little burst of energy and talent. "Final Day" has some fiery wah-wahing. Phil should've released this one before "Sunday's Child", and called it "Saturday Night". It's not a full-blown rocker, but a welcome return to the days of "Ph'lip Side". One of the special additions to this album are the five live studio jams, where guys like Phil, Rick Cua, Phil Madeira, and Mike Mead git down. A small slice of spontaneity from some of the best.
