If you are a hardcore record collector, the holy grail of your collecting is to find a copy of Project X Straight Edge Revenge. It is one of the most sought after records with in the hardcore community. There were only 500 pressed and most of them were sold with a copy of the hardcore fanzine, Schism #7, stapled to it. They were sold at a Bold show at the Anthrax club in Norwalk, CT in 1988. If you were at that show, you are one of the luckiest hardcore fans of all time.

The band was a side project and not really to be taken seriously. It was basically a stunt to sell more Schism magazines but it turned into a cult phenomenon. Project X played some shows along the way but not very many. The band was a hardcore super group. It consisted of Al Brown (Side By Side, Gorilla Biscuits), John "Porcell" Porcelly (Judge, Youth Of Today, Never Surrender, Shelter, Gorilla Biscuits), Sammy Siegler (Side By Side, Youth of Today, Judge) and Walter Schreifels (Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, Rival Schools, Warzone, Youth of Today). You can't really find a bigger line up than that. Plus the EP was recorded by Don Fury (Agnostic Front, Burn, Farside, GG Allin, Zach De La Rocha's Inside Out, Into Another, 108, Project X, Ray and Porcell, Shelter, Shift, Sick of it All, Side by Side, Snapcase, Quicksand, Warzone, and Absolution).

Their lyrics were very militant. With songs like Dance Floor Justice and Straight Edge Revenge, the songs have become anthems for just about every angry straight edge kid around the world. Straight Edge Revenge was actually a Youth of Today song but they never released it because Ray Cappo (vocals) didn't agree with it's militant message.

Bridge Nine Records has decided to do us all a favor and re-release not only the Project X EP but also an anthology of the Schism fanzine. The CD press has an extra two live tracks on it, so that is an added bonus. So if you are fortunate enough or wealthy enough to find or afford a copy of the original 500, here is your chance to grab this classic.
