While this is as contemporary as some very popular bands on alternative radio, Reflescent Tide actually plays 70's-revivalist hard-rock, without the heavy art-rock wanderings that came later with Yes and Queen. Mixing even amounts of acoustic and electric guitars, the band is reminiscent at times of bands like Die Happy or later-period The Brave. It's not spectacular, but it is a promising debut.
