When I first heard this band I really didn't like this material, but after listening to the second album, One of Four, and hearing the much improved quality and musicianship, I reconsidered. The first, self-titled demo has really up-tempo music and vocals that sound like really, really old "James Hetfield", "Lemmy" vocals. The music grinds and the guitar riffs pump out a lot of emotion, but this isn't my type of music. This album is more of a hard rock album, with no death involved in the mix. One cool thing about the label is that they don't want to label any music as a certain title, which I think is great, so I apologize for any comparisons made. For the people out there who listen to this type of music, I will continue to try to compare each band to some other "known" band so that you have an understanding of what you're going to buy. As for this band, if you're stuck in the late 80's and early 90's hard rock movement, you will love this album, and for the people who are looking for something a little harder, I would recommend the second demo. One of Four starts out very powerfully, as if the band really wants to make a statement to a new sound, then returns to more of the first demo tracks. In this demo, more guitar is promoted and sounds great. Also, the quality of the drums mix is incredibly improved, the vocals are changed to death, and the bass has been cranked up at least ten notches. This demo is a complete switch from the first album, which makes me wonder if the band is reaching new styles or stuck in trying to figure out what they would really want to play. All in all, this band really rocks out in two totally different styles of music, and that is really an accomplishment in itself. Check them out.
