It's been about three years since these boys from Brisbane cracked into alternative charts with that bouncy little punk anthem called "Exerciser," and the time has seen Rhubarb blossom into one of Australia's best kept secrets. With a member replacement and some subsequent role swapping, the influence of new guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Caleb James surfaces in songs that reflect a growing artistic maturity. A strong pop sensibility, hinted at in their debut, Kamikaze, shines through in tracks like 'New York' and 'Caroline', while honest, deeply personal songwriting remains at the core of each song. Intricate string sections and brilliant vocal harmonies are only further reasons to wonder why Rhubarb haven't yet been snatched up by one of the big international labels.
