SHD membership-wise is essentially The World Inside sans Jesse Sprinkle -- who produced their apparently self-titled record. Sonically, however, they are definitely their own band, demonstrating a musical approach that harkens Hum, Jawbox, and Sunny Day Real Estate. Frenetic, pensive song progressions create a hipster artsy vibe, and climactic, pure guitar walls push things into 'modern rock' territory. Overall, a well-planned and executed debut; check them out on our current Hard Music Sampler CD.
