Seventh Day Slumber has been taking its Son-soaked modern rock worship around the country, playing everywhere and developing their sound for a good couple years now. While most of these mid-tempo songs are performed well, I was expecting more of the drama and dynamics that kids want from new and live music. Nothing's bad here, but what I'm hearing are eleven tracks that would feel better if the pace were quickened, and the instrumentation ventured a little more in the reckless "danger zone." If you've heard one song, you pretty much know how the rest of the album sounds. "Untold Stories" tries to pick things up near the end, but a knockout punch doesn't come. It's probably great live, with its Grammatrain-like verse instrumentation, and loud Vedder-ish chorus, but the production holds it back. If Creed isn't "Christian enough" for you and you can't get enough of Third Day, then this album about grace will fill your cup.
