After this magazine's less than adequate review of Slick Shoes' strong debut, Rusty, this young band is back to prove that you don't necessarily know what you thought you knew about punk rock. One of the tightest punk bands in the Christian market, Slick Shoes sports some young members, including amazing-for-his-age guitarist Jackson Mould, and the equally speedy singer Ryan Kepke. Like I said, these boys are tight, proving that they've played together constantly since their formation a year or two ago. And new guitarist Dale Yob's contributions serve to make a thicker, meatier string layer. We don't hear as many of Jackson's metal leads this time, but we've certainly been impressed by what we've heard so far from Burnout - including the way one song turns into Quiet Riot's "Metal Health."
