Flicker Records' newest recording artist Stereo Motion has recently released their debut self titled album, and it's definitely an interesting spin on rock and roll. If you are a fan of the '60's and '70's rock and roll, you'll dig this one.
Without question this group of teens are amazingly talented, being able to play and write some awesome and addictive tracks. And the great thing is they play just as well, if not better, live as the album was recorded in a concert-type of setting. So no extra instruments or electronic drum loops appear on the album, which is nice to see.
Great lyrics are present and accounted for, the majority of which bassist Justin Morgan writes. The songs touch on a number of different topics from playing in concert (and who really steals the show) to the event of Jesus dying on the cross. No matter what the topic is, however, each song seems to be written quite well for the most part. There are the odd spots where it seems a bit simplistic, however.
Overall, if you are into rock and roll (especially the '60's and '70's eras), then definitely check out Stereo Motion. With the raspy voice, awesome music, and enjoyable lyrics, there's no question that you'll find something you like...I know I did.
