There's a new label in the Northwest called Paperback Records and, based upon what I saw at Tomfest, they know what kind of talent to sign (creative, independent-thinking artists with a voice all their own and something to say.) Steve Birss is one such artist that will grab your attention quietly and pull you in until you're the new president of his fan club. Almost ambient, sleepy electronic music sashays into strumming and quirky blips, etc.
