You ready for some jammin', rippin' blues guitar? From the feedback CD intro--when lead guitarist Steve Riddle is just warming up--to the last note squeezed out on "Tender Mercy," he plays with all he's got--and his band has no problem keeping up. Stevie Ray, B.B. King, Darrell Mansfield, Larry Howard, and Glenn Kaiser are all worn proudly on Riddle's sleeve. Hot, hot, hot. A surprising favorite has turned out to be one of the slower tracks, "Narrow Road," with its atmospheric piano and hypnotizing bass guitar. "Find your way home to the narrow road." Blues is a genre that is conspicuously absent from the Christian music scene. Considering the response the late-night Cornerstone Blues Jam used to get, many people would like to hear more. The Steve Riddle band is a nice jumping-off point.
