Catchy lyrics. Songs that get stuck in your head and could be in there for hours on end. Just a few phrases to describe Superchic[k]. They've got girl power, plus some. Step into the world of a garage band that's just a little different.
Every song is uplifting. If you don't have high self esteem before listening to this, well, you'll come out with a smile. And not only are they uplifting, but they're all about being yourself, not going along with what everyone wants you to do. Take "Big Star Machine," for example. "Could someone help me comprehend how I came to judge my friends/on a scale of trendiness and somehow I love them less/not as hip as they could be through the eyes of star machine," how many people do you think get caught in the above dilemma?
A personal favorite of mine, "Barlow Girls," is a theme for all those girls out there who are saving themselves for that special someone. And of course, a real anthem for girls across the world is "One Girl Revolution," Now, of course, their songs aren't all girl-geared. There are plenty of great messages for boys, too.
I commend Superchic[k] for giving me something exciting and happy to listen to. A great pick-me-up record for any slow day. Their pop-punk, hip-hopish, garage band sound is irresistible and is sure to get you singing or snapping along. So "turn up the car radio," and give Superchic[k] a go.
