Reunion Records has released this latest project from Trevor Horn and Jon Anderson of Yes...Oh! I'm sorry. No, this is The Awakening, a new eccentric band from Canada. They've got a sound very reminiscent of late Yes (their 90125 days). The Awakening incorporates progressive fusion with theatrical rock to create a real refreshing sound. While Yes punched on every level on 90125, The Awakening holds back, relying more on varying sounds than straight-ahead rocking. There's some killer guitar work here in the screaming vein - enough to turn some heads when I played it over the sound system at the Christian bookstore I work at. Check it out.
