This is going to be hard to be nice. The hurt process is in no way different from anything I have listened to. They are eclectic to the point that there is no room at all for originality in their music. Do they people today really want to buy thirty different albums from thirty different bands with differences so subtle that it would take honest concentration and a good magnifying glass to pick them apart? I feel like it would easier for me, to blindfolded, guess the hidden identity of a Sprite, 7up or Sierra mist. I suppose there are some out there that can and do. I suppose this is something I will never understand.
A good percentage of hardcore drummers can perform faster with more finesse. There are few hardcore albums coming out that don't have an acoustic set to end their album. Violent screaming will only get you so far. Unless The Hurt Process makes some radical changes listeners will begin think their name means something that has absolutely nothing to do with heartache.
