Do you remember an old dirty punk band on Tooth and Nail called Upside Down Room? Well, they must have reproduced because the Sixfifteens sound like their lovechildren.

While listening to this album I was struck with images and sounds from years gone by. That era of independent music, production and all is represented on this album. I'm pretty sure that the band wasn't trying to make us feel nostalgic with their new album but it is so much akin to those early Tooth and Nail Releases that I had to mention it.

The production quality is lower grade and while everything can be heard, the mix sounds a bit off. The vocals are mixed very loud and it sounds as if the band is playing in the next room but the vocalist is standing on your stereo speakers looking at you. It's not the best production I've ever heard, though I have to say that it's not the worst. This album simply because of the style would appeal to a lot of my comrades on Decapolis. It's a bit of the pop/emo/rock/punkish influenced stuff we've heard a lot of lately but it just isn't doing it for me. There is more of the slow/fast dichotomy that we are so used to these days.

The Sixfifteens are not devoid of talent and with more maturity and better production could one-day turn into something quite good. That day is not today. I would hope that their best days are ahead of them.
