Next disc up for consumption is from Florence, Alabama's the Wednesdays, who used to be on Jackson Rubio (r.i.p.). Estrus Records, out of Bellingham, WA, has pressed three songs of their old time R&B garage rock for a 7" entitled Spirit War. Simply but nicely packaged, the record comes in clear vinyl and features the gritty, billy-boy rock-roll songs: "Wolves That Miss Their Lambs" and the title track on side A, and "Runaway Train Couldn't Drag Me Away" on side B. Word is that the Wednesdays are still actively touring and planning a new CD called Fury. Order the 7" online at www.estrus.com, or from the band: 3000 County Road 10, Florence, AL 35633 [www.quadrajets.com/thewednesdays/index.html]
