Intelligent, fresh settings for some of the best-known hymns of evangelical Protestantism ("Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing," "Be Thou My Vision," "Amazing Grace," and "When the Roll is Called up Yonder") interspersed with some of Twila Paris's newer compositions greet the listener on this, her second worship album. Introductions on acoustic guitar, synthesizers, or full orchestra take the listener in unexpected directions before settling down into the familiar tunes and styling of contemporary worship music. Her place in modern hymnals is already secure thanks to earlier gems such as "He is Exalted...." Whether or not this new batch will be similarly immortalized is beyond this reviewer's ability to determine, but they do stand up well in direct comparison to the classics.
