When I first saw the title, Preschool Tunes, I thought, "Oh great! A collection of songs I won't want to hear very often." Wow, was I wrong! This project offers a pleasant and enjoyable blend of songs that will hold up under repeated play without reaching the point of parental annoyance. That's a challenge difficult to attain with songs aimed at younger children, who often will sing songs ad nauseam.
The melodic voices of the children in the choir are truly enjoyable, and the musical accompaniment is well orchestrated to enhance the sound and beauty of each song. A diversity of instruments is used throughout the project, yet a uniformity of sound is maintained. All of this with the further challenge of providing a mix of Christian songs with a popular selection of secular songs-whew.
Christian songs on this project include "All Night, All Day," "Jesus Loves Me," "Into My Heart," and "God Is So Good." The secular songs include "Bingo," "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and "Mary Had A Little Lamb." My favorite track is "Oh, Who Can Make A Flower?" sung with the innocence and marvel that only a child can convey:
Oh, who can make a flower? I know I can't, can you? Oh, who can make a flower? No one but God, it's true
Preschool Tunes is one of three in a collection of All Time Favorites. The other two in the series are All Time Favorites - Kids' Hymns and All Time Favorites - Funny Songs. All three offer a pleasant selection of songs for younger children and would make a great addition to any child's musical collection of favorites.
All Time Favorites - Preschool Tunes proved to be a big hit with even the early elementary-aged children I have shared it with. Filled with familiar tunes, it's sure to be a sing-a-long favorite. Take it along on your next drive with the children, and let them sing along with their favorites instead of "you know who."
