Most compilations are a mixture of mediocre, bad, and good songs. They are generally average CDs, but at least are fairly cheap most of the time. Compilations are a good way to introduce you to a new sound, and to new and exciting bands.
This comp released by Nettwerk Records has a mix of mostly newer songs (Postal Service's 'Against all Odds' cover) along with a few remixes.

Good songs on the comp include the Sarah McLachlan remix, which coming in at over eight minutes and still sounding beautiful throughout, shows it's a great remix. The Postal Service cover is quite entertaining. Ulrich Schnauss', "On My Own" is a good dance song, and Ian Brown's "Time is My Everything" lifts things up a bit with its Latin flavor.
The comp's tracks are blended together sonically through great production with no real pauses... then again even if there were an obvious break between tracks, it would still feel like one really long song. The comp is indeed called "Chillout 06," I think it's more like Nap Time 06. This isn't to say there aren't good moments, but a lot of the songs just aren't interesting enough.
This comp is for anyone who really likes the latest fad of 80's inspired new wave/synth pop/ambient songs. Perhaps it's because I find such songs move far too slow; or it might be because the album does too good of a job at chilling one out to the point of a nap at some parts, for me it was just an average compilation.
