Much better than Volume One, The Hymns. They seemed to keep the reverence inherent in these songs, but just performed them naturally as a heavy band would do. Absolute highlight would be Jamie Rowe (Guardian)'s rendition of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". Other hot tunes include Sara Tennison's solo in "What Child Is This?", John Elefante's version of "Silent Night" (yeah!), and "Little Drummer Boy", which is performed by a kid's choir backed with full-sounding drums and heavy keys and bass. This year will be the closest we've had to a "White metal Christmas."
