Hymns Of Jesus is a delightful collection of songs that will be familiar to anyone who has grown up in the church. The hymns are arranged into four parts: The Savior, The Crucifixion, The Resurrection and Return, and The Reign. The arrangements are dignified, beautiful harmonies and include favorites such as "Savior Like A Shepherd Lead Us," "Jesus Paid It All," and "Crown Him With Many Crowns." There are far too many vocalists to mention, but among them are a few names you may recognize, such as Tanya Goodman Sykes.
This album is easy listening, the sort of music you might enjoy humming or singing along with. "O Sacred Head Now Wounded," "Come Thou Almighty King," and "When Morning Gilds The Sky" are beautiful arrangements, though they didn't evoke the emotion in me that other arrangements do.
I expect that an adult audience will enjoy this offering-a perfect project for background in the sanctuary before worship. I recommend a listen for anyone enjoying hymns of the church.
