I have to say, this disappointed me a little bit. I was really looking forward to hearing Embodyment's cover of Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper that the Solid State page had said would be on this cd. However, it was not. On the bright side, Embodyment did have one new track on this disc. It's called Halo of Winter and it's awesome. If you have Embodyment's last demo or their full length, then you have heard Kris McCaddon demonstrate two different vocal styles. On this song, he unleashes a third which is without a doubt my favorite and his best developed. The music is nothing short of incredible. As for the rest of the tracks, the re-recorded version of Enthroned by Living Sacrifice has to stand out the most. The drums are a little muddy which is disappointing because Lance Garvin is so incredible. Spitfire has a decent track on here too but their track on Blessed Be This Killing is a lot better. The rest of these songs I either already had or had purposely not bought before. For six bucks I'd have to say that this cd is worth the money, especially if you don't have many Solid State releases. It has great, previously released tracks from Zao, Extol, Strongarm, Overcome and Living Sacrifice.

HM Magazine #79Reviewed by David BixlerThe title sums up this CD quite nicely. Perhaps one of the best "young" labels has released a sampler that showcases the talent evident throughout the label. Bands like Zao, Blindside, the mighty Extol, Stretch Arm Strong, and others are found playing some of their best songs from their featured Solid State releases. The standout track, however, is the unreleased Living Sacrifice song "Enthroned…
Bandoppler 1999Reviewed by John SantThe new Solid State sampler is...well...a comp. There's a total of four new tracks, out of sixteen total. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Seeing as how quite a few of the Solid State bands are slated for releases sometime this year, it would have been nice to have had more of a preview of things to come. I've heard a couple tracks off the new ZAO and can't figure out why they didn't include…
Exit Zine 1999Reviewed by John SantThe new Solid State sampler is rather dull. It seems that the good ol' boys at Tooth and Nail have become lazy in their work. How they expect to pass this off as a worthwhile compilation is beyond me. There are a total of three new tracks, along with thirteen other stale songs. Needless to say, I was disappointed when I read the track list. Seeing as how quite a few of the Solid State bands are…
